
Kim was born in Greenville, Pennsylvania. He married the former Diane Borden, June 12, 1981. They have one son, Evan. Kim received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (1979) from Youngstown State University, Youngstown, Ohio. After answering the call to ministry in 1987, he furthered his education with a Master of Divinity degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (1993) and a Doctorate of Ministry degree (2004). Kim has served as pastor of Southern Baptist Churches in Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia and most recently in Pennsylvania where he is pastor of Pittsburgh Baptist Church. In addition to his pastoral work, Kim served as Chaplain for the Montgomery Police Department, Montgomery, Alabama (1997-2000). He has served on the Board of the Georgia Baptist Children’s Homes and Family Ministries and as Moderator of the Tucker Baptist Association in Georgia. Kim has been an adjunct professor with New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary where he taught spiritual formation and evangelism. He is the current President of the Pennsylvania-South Jersey Baptist Convention and Moderator for the Baptist Association of Southwestern Pennsylvania. Kim enjoys spending time with his family, golf, reading, and exercise.
